Final weeks preparation strategy for JEE
Greetings to each and every student here, as an aspirant each one of us go through a certain phases. While some have had the preparations over the period of 2 years, others may not have much time to prepare for their JEE exams.
The reasons can be many but let's not talk about the reasons in this article. Here, I want to give you all an idea about how to prepare for your JEE exam in a short period of time. The things that you need to keep in your mind while you go through the last weeks just before the exams.
My suggestions on how to crack JEE with only limited time to prepare:
- Never randomize your study. First, make a week-by-week plan, with provision for mock tests, revision, new learning, etc. Then, make daily plans and stick to them diligently. Make the plans always just a little higher than your previous best (maybe 10-15% higher), and that will keep you progressing. For instance: if you have a capacity of doing 400 questions a day, fix a target 450 or 470 to be done daily. (Warning – don’t set the bar so irrationally high that you are forever under pressure of not being able to achieve it.)
- Keep records & track progress: Maintain complete records of what all you have covered and what all is left to cover. You can surely make a chart / table depicting your progress. The chart / table may include certain points such as:
- Topic
- Level for preparation (Good, Average, Bad)
- What all to study and from where?
- Time table for completion
- Key subtopics to be covered at any cost
- You don’t need others to support you: Maybe, some students are facing the situation where they feel lonely and dejected by how their classmates are doing. Thinking of them as competition just adds to anxiety and stress. Don’t lose confidence, you just keep working and practicing – there is no point in comparisons. In reality, you actually don’t need anyone to get through any situation, just believe in yourselves and keep working hard.
- Prioritize carefully: Chemistry is the most scoring subject for most students. It can fetch you maximum marks, if you study this subject with full dedication. Focus more on organic chemistry; as it is the most scoring and least time consuming part of the whole examination paper. Don’t leave anything in chemistry part, it helped me add a 100 to my JEE ADVANCED score. In physics, focus more on mechanical and electrical portions – since most of the questions relate to these areas of physics. For Maths, it’s all about practice – the more you practice the more you can achieve.
- Smart Exam Practice: The best practice is attempting the sample papers itself. Either join a test series or do the JEE sample papers and last year papers on your own within the time limits. Solving the paper is not just for getting to know your current level of preparation, it’s about knowing the fields in which you are weak and need to work. According to me, “The questions you are able to do now are the ones you will be surely doing in your JEE exam. It’s all about those questions which you aren’t able to do. Those are the real problems you need to deal with.”
All the best buddies!

DeleteThnk u sir....for such amazing tips..
DeleteBut can I ask u a question.... honestly I really worked very hard for these 2 years...but i don't join any specific place...used to study from YouTube.thats why lack of strategy drowned my dream..I want to be in the field of robotics...but according to my current situation not getting what to do...plzz suggest☹
See, it doesn't matter from where you study. From coaching, youtube, study materials of coaching, the books only or whichever source. The main thing is having a plan. I have recently posted on "How to make a perfect study time table." Go through the post once. And all you need is a determination. Plan yourself according to the days left. Don't try to cover everything. Try to cover the portion you can master. It's better to know 70% of your syllabus with a good level of understanding tham knowing 90% of syllabus with less understanding. You can also go through my post "How I made it to IIT", I too didn't went to coaching for a long time... It was mostly self study.

ReplyDeleteWelcome
DeleteI am student of class 12 I fill the form of jee mains may session 2021. and i really don't know how to start my preparation and complete it within 2 months. and I also don't know it is possible or not? can u plz share some strategy with me so that i am able to secure good marks in may session.....
ReplyDeleteI can share what I did during the last days. I also didn't have much of a coaching experience. The most of my experience is with self study. You have almost 2 months or a bit less for May attempt. Just make a plan, time table of what topics you will cover everyday... Give your 1 hour or 2 hours to this and then stick to it. Revise the concepts and the main highlights of the topics and start doing questions. Questions help you much more than just revision. Try finishing this chapter wise revision in a month or 40 days. Then start practicing papers. Do atleast 2 papers a day... That means 6 hours and see the questions which you were not able to do. Those are the questions and topics you need to work on. Do more and more questions that's the key.
